Accessibility
We want everyone to be able to watch KLYRE and use klyre.tv. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA.
What we do
- The live broadcast shows on-screen captions of everything that is said.
- Text and controls meet WCAG contrast minimums.
- Every control works with a keyboard, with a visible focus outline, and there's a "Skip to content" link on every page.
- The site follows your device's reduced-motion setting: the blinking LIVE marker stops.
- What's playing now and next is written out as text beside the picture, not only shown in it.
- Air times are shown in your own time zone.
- Sound never starts until you choose to turn on the TV.
What isn't there yet
- The pixel-art picture has no audio description of what's happening on screen. Captions cover the dialogue, not the action.
- Videos on YouTube rely on YouTube's own captions and player controls.
